The 27th Annual David Lerner Associates Long Island Police Appreciation Run will be held Thursday, June 7, 2018 at Eisenhower Park in East Meadow, New York. The event is held in collaboration with the Greater Long Island Running Club (GLIRC) and helps raise awareness of the invaluable service Long Island’s law enforcement offers each community and supports the Police Crisis Fund, which provides assistance to Nassau and Suffolk County law enforcement officers and their families in times of crisis. All proceeds go to the Police Crisis Fund.

For 27 years, David Lerner Associates has worked hard to make this event a continued success that supports our local police officers and their families when they need it most. “We look forward to this event each year, and this year is expected to be the best yet,” said John Dempsey, president of David Lerner Associates. “Sponsoring this event and helping to grow the Police Crisis Fund over the years is a large part of who we are as a company and as a member of the Long Island community.”

Since its inception in 1991, more than 16,000 runners have participated in the David Lerner Associates Long Island Police Appreciation Run, and the event has raised more than $310,000 for the Police Crisis Fund. This ensures it continues to enhance the lives of police officers and their families during times of need.

At the conclusion of this year’s run, Anthony Meere, David Lerner Associates’ Syosset branch manager and Senior Vice President, and a former police detective, Alexander Barnych, will present awards to runners in various categories.

The David Lerner Associates Police Appreciation 5K Run is open to runners of all ages and skill levels. For more information, call (516) 349-7646, or register online at http://www.glirc.org.
