(Newswire.net — July 14, 2018) Orlando, FL — While it is highly prevalent, erectile dysfunction is not openly talked about. Men who struggle with this condition typically resort to certain measures believed to be helpful to them.

Scientists conducted a study that was published in The American Journal of Clinical Nutrition.

In this new collaborative study from the University of East Anglia (UEA) and Harvard University, it was found that intake of flavonoid-rich foods is linked with a decreased risk of erectile dysfunction.

Flavonoids can be found in citrus fruits, blueberries, and red wine. The greatest benefits are thought to come from flavonoids like flavanones, flavones, and anthocyanins. These may be obtained from cherries, blueberries, radishes, blackberries, and blackcurrant.

These therapeutic ingredients are speculated to best fight erectile dysfunction. The study has revealed that consumption of these foods are as good as brisk walking for five hours weekly against ED.

Scientists found that these flavonoids greatly benefited men who were under 70 years old. They revealed that a higher total fruit intake was linked with the risk reduction of erectile dysfunction by 14 percent.

Combined with exercise, risk of ED has been reduced by 21 percent.

The study was performed by nutrition departments at the Harvard TH Chan School of Public Health and UEA’s Norwich Medical School. The lead researcher was Prof Aedin Cassidy from UEA.

The lead author said that this is the first study to actually focus on the link between flavonoids and erectile dysfunction. It is important to understand that this condition actually affects half of all middle-aged and older men.

This study involved more than 50,000 middle aged men. The investigators also took into account factors like physical activity, body weight, smoking habits if any, and amount of caffeine consumed.

Over one third of the male participants reported to having a new onset of erectile dysfunction.

In the United States, it is estimated there are over 18 million males with erectile dysfunction. What makes erectile dysfunction more alarming is that it is not only a sexual health problem, but may also be an indicator of cardiovascular risk.

Some experts suggest that the risk of ED may be reduced through improving dietary and lifestyle habits. Flavonoids have long been reputed to aid in vascular function, as well as blood pressure.

They are also found to reduce the risk of developing erectile dysfunction. It may be beneficial to take into account the use of Divine Bounty Men’s Multivitamins.
