(Newswire.net — July 26, 2018) Orlando, FL — Phones and some other types of gadgets have become a huge part of the daily lives of many people. While they are helpful, it appears that they may also cause some side effects to health.

A small study was presented at the Radiological Society of North America’s annual meeting in Chicago. In this research, the investigators found an imbalance of brain chemicals among internet-addicted teenagers.

This study was presented by lead study author Dr. Hyung Suk Seo, a professor of neuroradiology at Korea University in Seoul, South Korea.

It is worth mentioning that such an imbalance has been observed in those who suffer from depression and anxiety. The good news is that this imbalance is reversible through cognitive behavioral therapy.

The subject teens with internet and smartphone addiction exhibited a clear abundance of the gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA). This is an inhibitory neurotransmitter, and it means that it hindered nerve cells from firing.

It is important to understand that excessive levels of GABA in the wrong areas may have undesirable side effects.

In the study, there was an abundance in GABA in one region of the limbic system.

According to Dr. Max Wintermark, disruption in the normal function of the limbic system has been found to increase the risk of depression, anxiety, or addiction.

Wintermark is a professor of radiology and the chief of neuroradiology at Stanford University.

In multiple published studies, it has been found that addiction to alcohol or other substances has been associated with chemical imbalances in various regions of the brain.

The American Psychiatric Association says that internet addition pertains to the excessive use of the internet. This excessive use has been found to result in the impairment of sleep, relationships, and everyday life.

Taking care of the brain can be done in many ways. It is imperative for people to take the measures necessary just to improve and protect its health.

Following a healthy diet is one of the keys to improving the health of the brain. This means consuming foods that are rich in vitamins, minerals, and other therapeutic agents.

Increasing intake of these nutrients may mean turning to multivitamins. For males, it is wise to consider the use of Divine Bounty Men’s Multivitamins. This formula is loaded with a range of disease-fighting, health-enhancing ingredients.
