(Newswire.net — August 8, 2018) Orlando, FL — Arthritis has long been known by the symptoms it causes, which includes pain, stiffness, and immobility. These symptoms subject sufferers to withdraw from the society and live a reduced quality of life.

A recent study shows arthritis is associated with suicide attempts in men. This condition has no cure yet and the symptoms it brings can only be managed. There have been many sufferers who succumb to depression due to this ailment.

In a recent study, the researchers revealed that one in every 26 male arthritis sufferers have attempted suicide, and this was compared to one in 50 men without the condition. Further, they found that female sufferers also had a higher prevalence of lifetime suicide attempts than women without the condition.

This study was from the University of Toronto, and it further found that individuals with the condition still had higher likelihood of suicide attempts by 46 percent than those without the condition.

The same is true even when certain adjustments were made for important factors like income, age, chronic pain, and a history of mental health disorders.

Lead author Esme Fuller-Thomson suggested that when they focused on adult arthritis sufferers, they found that those who suffered from childhood sexual abuse or chronic parental domestic violence were more than three times more susceptible to making suicide attempts. This was compared to adults with arthritis who did not suffer from childhood adversities.

The lead author also suggests that the magnitude of the suicide attempts were actually comparable to those that were linked with depression. It is worth realizing that depression is the most popular risk factor for suicide attempts.

Natasha Ramzan, co-author, a recent MSW graduate of the University of Toronto, reported that there are other factors linked with suicide attempts in individuals with arthritis. It includes a history of drug or alcohol dependence, as well as anxiety disorders.

It has also been found that poorer, younger and less educated arthritis sufferers tend to be more likely to commit suicide attempts.

This study was published online in the journal called Rheumatology International.

Today, many arthritis sufferers turn to the use of pain relievers like nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). These medications could be helpful in easing arthritis pain and improving mobility.

These pharmaceutical drugs are helpful, but they could also cause some side effects. Thus, it is wise to take into account the use of safer alternatives like glucosamine, which is extremely popular in individuals with arthritis.

VitaBreeze Glucosamine formula could be a great option. It is highly potent and pure, and contains a variety of all-natural, anti-arthritis ingredients. These ingredients are methylsulfonylmethane (MSM), chondroitin and turmeric.
