Omega-3s May Help to Reduce Heart Attack Risk

( — August 31, 2018) Orlando, FL — Heart disease is one of the fatal conditions closely associated with the high mortality risk in many areas around the world. There are medications and natural alternatives available for the condition, and it seems that both can work together for the benefit of sufferers.

A combination of omega-3s and blood-thinning medications may help to reduce heart attack risk. Omega-3 fats are healthy fats that are essential for the proper functioning of the body and brain. These fatty acids can be found in fish such as salmon, tuna, sardines, and cod. According to experts, omega-3s may have the potential to reduce the risk of heart problems in individuals with coronary artery disease.

“Omega-3 fatty acids may also be obtained through fish oil supplementation,” said VitaBreeze Supplements spokesperson, Michelle O’Sullivan.

Researchers from Poland revealed that combining omega-3s and two blood thinners resulted in changes in the blood clotting process. This is significantly linked with the reduction in the risk of heart attacks in individuals with stents in their heart arteries. The findings of the study were published in the Arteriosclerosis, Thrombosis, and Vascular Biology: Journal of the American Heart Association.

The Institute of Cardiology at Jagiellonian University Medical College researchers in Krakow, Poland, dosed the participants with a pill form of omega-3 fats.

In the study, the researchers indicated that individuals dosed with omega-3 fats experienced a shorter time of clot destruction and less oxidative stress. They suggest that omega-3s may have anti-thrombotic and anti-platelet actions.

If combined with other treatments, omega-3s may be helpful in individuals with coronary artery disease.  Omega-3s have long been believed to be an excellent natural alternative for heart health. Fish oil supplements are even used by individuals who seek to increase their protection against a range of heart ailments.

While omega-3s may be essential for overall health, they cannot be produced naturally by the body. This means they should be obtained from outside sources such as food. While there are fish items that contain high levels of omega-3s, consumers should be careful in eating fish.

There are many commercially-available fish in the market that contain high levels of environmental pollutants such as mercury and heavy metals. These pollutants may be detrimental to human health.

Taking fish oil supplements is one of the safest ways to obtain omega-3 fats. Some of the most reputable herbal supplement manufacturers use a molecular distillation process, which works by reducing or eliminating environmental pollutants from fish oil.

Fish oil supplements can be purchased at local health stores or online.(
