Study Warns Against High Antibiotic Resistance in Children

(Newswire.net — September 5, 2018) Orlando, FL — Today, health organizations continue to warn against the increasing rate of antibiotic resistance. Antibiotics are typically used by those who suffer from UTIs, and this includes not just adults but kids too.

Scientists at the University of Bristol and Imperial College London conducted a study. The study was published in the Journal of Antimicrobial Chemotherapy.

In this research, they were able to find persistence of bacterial resistance for up to three months following intake of antibiotics in children.

It is worth mentioning that there is a high prevalence of antibiotic resistance in the E.coli of children against the commonly described antibiotics. This, according to experts, could make them ineffective.

According to researchers, antibiotic resistance is one of the most serious threats to global health in modern medicine.

Unfortunately by 2050, it has been estimated to place 10 million lives at the risk of antibiotic-resistance infections yearly.

Antibiotics are undeniably helpful in killing the E.coli bacteria that cause infection. However, they also kill the good bacteria, which apparently are beneficial for the body.

In addition to depriving the body with adequate levels of good bacteria, this medication is notoriously known to cause antibiotic resistance.

Research has found that kids are frequent users of antibiotics globally. The findings of the study suggest that GPs should seriously consider whether or not it is needed or beneficial to prescribe the medication.

It is worth mentioning that E.coli accounts for over 80 percent of all UTI cases in kids.

The researchers had a secondary analysis of data involving 824 children who were under five years of age. They have been formerly recruited to the Diagnosis of Urinary Tract infection in Young children (DUTY) study, which aimed to improve the diagnosis of UTIs in children.

When antibiotics are routinely used, it increases the chance of antibiotic resistance in adults. It is extremely important to take the necessary measures in reducing the risk of the infection. This significantly aids in reducing the need for antibiotics.

Drinking lots of water is needed to flush bacteria out of the body. Some physicians and even scientists recommend the use of D-Mannose, which is a sugar that binds with E.coli. D-Mannose then eliminates bacteria from the body, which can help prevent or treat the infection.

While there are many other safer alternatives believed to be helpful against UTIs, it is D-Mannose that is highly recommended by physicians and researchers. D-Mannose can be found in cranberry, but there are also supplements available.

Purest Vantage D-Mannose could be an excellent formula to use. It is carefully crafted in an FDA-inspected facility in the United States. It continues to gain attention and trust due to the beneficial effects it provides against UTIs.
