(Newswire.net — October 31, 2018) Orlando, FL — While many acne products are helpful, some are undeniably not useful and could even be dangerous.

According to the FDA, some over-the-counter acne products can produce some life-threatening reactions.

Over the last four decades, the FDA has received around 131 reports from manufacturers and users on the adverse reactions of certain products.

These products in particular contain ingredients like benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid.

Experts warn that about 42 percent of the bad reactions occur within 24 hours of use. The good news is that no deaths have been reported. However, they warn that 44 percent of the cases led to hospitalizations.

It has been found that 40 percent of the cases involved symptoms similar to an allergy attack. This includes wheezing, low blood pressure, tight throat, shortness of breath, fainting and collapsing.

It is worth mentioning these acne treatments include facial washes, gels, cleansing pads, and face scrubs.

Dr. Mona Khurana, of the FDA, said that there is currently no mention of the possibility of these very severe allergic reactions on the product labels.

“It’s important that consumers know about them, and that they know what to do if they occur,” she adds.

When it comes to acne, there are natural remedies found to be useful in clearing up the skin.

According to researchers, activated charcoal lotion has shown promise for moderate to severe acne.

Dr. SI Chun in Seoul, Korea, has developed a new technique which compared two different sets of laser treatments in combination with a topical activated charcoal lotion.

On a moderate to severe pustular and cystic acne over the sides of her cheeks and chin, activated charcoal lotion was applied following a topical anesthesia.

It is worth mentioning the affected areas were also treated with two different laser frequencies.

During the fourth treatment, the researchers observed a significant improvement. Remarkably by the sixth treatment, there was more than 90 percent clearance of inflammatory lesions.

At the 8-week follow-up after the last treatment, investigators saw long-lasting improvements in the acne of the patient.

Improvements also reached the closed comedones as well as in the general skin condition, especially pores, sebum reduction, and the red spots seen after inflammatory acne.

More studies are still underway to validate the remarkable healing potentials of activated charcoal. Today, its use is widespread and even highly recommended by experts.

One supplement to consider using is Divine Bounty Activated Charcoal, which is highly potent and pure.
