(Newswire.net — November 7, 2018) Winnetka, IL — High bad or LDL cholesterol levels have long been something many health experts warn consumers against. While health organizations have been making steps to reduce its prevalence, it appears that these efforts are somehow rendered useless.

According to a study, a medication used in the treatment of high cholesterol is consumed by as few as 52 percent of adults with high cholesterol levels.

Heart specialists warn that those who have high levels of cholesterol or are susceptible to the problem should be taking their medication.

Statistics show that around 80 percent of adults are screened. However, only 38 percent of them with bad cholesterol get prescription for a statin medication to lower their levels.

Researchers have been exploring options that could potentially aid in reducing cholesterol levels. Medications are good and necessary, but it is also best to consider what certain natural remedies can offer.

When it comes to reducing bad cholesterol levels, it appears that ashwagandha may help.

According to researchers, ashwagandha has powerful antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. This is believed to be the reason why it is good for heart health and against cardiovascular problems.

What makes it even more beneficial is that it strengthens the heart muscles and aid in managing cholesterol.

A study from the University of Arizona has revealed that it has hypolipidemic properties, which help in bringing down blood cholesterol levels.

In a separate study involving subjects with mildly high cholesterol, ashwagandha was found to decrease the total cholesterol by 10 percent.

Researchers further found this natural remedy was able to decrease LDL cholesterol by 6 percent, triglycerides by 15 percent, and VLDL by 15 percent. Its use also led to a slight increase of good cholesterol by 4.2 percent. This increase took place despite of the higher calorie and fat intake of the test subjects.

Scientists suggest ashwagandha may be helpful in individuals with mildly high total cholesterol and LDL cholesterol levels. What makes it even more beneficial is that it could deliver amazing benefits without producing side effects.

It is worth mentioning that in a study involving healthy volunteers, ashwagandha was able to decrease total cholesterol by 9.2 percent and LDL by 14 percent. It even increased HDL levels and reduced triglycerides by 7.5 percent.

Scientists suggest that the cholesterol lowering-effects of ashwagandha may be due to the wiithanolides it contains. Withanolides have an antioxidant action, and may even reduce atherosclerosis and other heart conditions.

To experience its benefits, it is wise to consider the use of NutraHerbals Ashwagandha, which is a highly potent and pure formula (www.amazon.com/organic-ashwagandha-root-powder/dp/B01GZALWGO).
