UTIs Are Increasingly More Difficult to Treat

(Newswire.net — November 14, 2018) Orlando, FL — Urinary tract infection rates continue to grow, and this growth carries along with it the increasing need for antibiotics. Unfortunately, this type of medication appears to have become ineffective in treating the infection.

According to researchers, antibiotic resistance is a rapidly growing public health concern. Global health officials even focus on UTI as the infection-causing bacteria are no longer affected by antibiotics.

It is important to understand that antibiotic exposure doesn’t only come from using the medication to treat UTIs, but also other sources.

In a report published by the British Government, it has been found that the human-caused reasons behind the increasing rates of antibiotic resistance are unregulated use of over-the-counter antibiotics, overuse of antibiotics, and use of strong antibiotics in agriculture.

However, it remains true that in a majority of cases, antibiotics are used in fighting UTIs.

Dr. Anup Kumar, professor and head of the urology department at Safdarjung hospital, says they are forced to use old injectable antibiotics.

It is important to be warned these injectable antibiotics are known to be toxic to the kidneys. They are used in those who already have multi-drug resistant UTI. “People may die of UTI,” Dr. Kumar adds.

Natural treatments like D-Mannose continue to gain increasing popularity today. This is particularly true among sufferers who do not want to experience the side effects of using antibiotics.

Scientists carried out a study in 2014, and it involved 308 females with a history of recurring UTIs.

It is worth mentioning that they were divided into three groups. There was a placebo group, a group treated with an antibacterial drug, and the third with a 2-gram dose of D-mannose.

The treatments were given every day for 6 months. The researchers found that not only did the D-mannose group have drastically less UTIs than the placebo group, but it also had significantly fewer side effects than the prescription drug group.

The study findings suggest that D-Mannose could be extremely helpful in reducing the risk of recurring UTIs.

It is worth mentioning that D-Mannose works by binding with and eliminating E.coli from the body. Experts warn this type of bacterium is responsible for 90 percent of all UTI cases.

While more studies are still underway to learn more about the UTI-fighting benefits of D-Mannose, it can’t be denied that its use and the demand of it is widespread.

It is popularly consumed through the use of supplements like Purest Vantage D-Mannose, which is highly pure and potent.
