(Newswire.net — November 22, 2018) Orlando, FL — Breast cancer is extremely prevalent nowadays, and it often affects women.

However, according to Breastcancer.org, men can also suffer from this fatal condition. As a matter of fact, less than one percent of breast cancer cases happen to the male population.

Paul Gittens, MD, said that in women, a diagnosis can be done with a mammogram or sonogram.

Gittens is an assistant professor and the director of sexual dysfunction, male fertility, and andrology at Montefiore Medical Center and the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York City and director and founder of the Philadelphia Center for Sexual Medicine.

Men often feel that they have a lump when the condition is already starting to develop. The American Cancer Society has revealed that the cure rate at each stage of breast cancer is similar in men and women.

Further, the Breastcancer.org has found that men have a lifetime risk of approximately one in 1,000, with most cases occurring after age 60. According to experts, male breast cancer is prevalent in older men. It may produce symptoms like a painless lump or thickening in the breast tissue.

It may also led to changes in the appearance of the nipple, particularly showing scaling or redness. Another symptom is discharge from the nipple.

Some of the risk factors in addition to old age are exposure to estrogen, genetic predisposition, Klinefelter’s syndrome, liver disease, obesity, and radiation exposure. Cancer has no known cure yet, and this is why many healthcare providers strongly recommend resorting to measures that could help prevent its onset. There are natural remedies found to have anti-cancer benefits, and they are grapes, broccoli, wheatgrass, garlic, soybean, and green tea.

The National Center for Complementary and Integrative Health reveals that garlic has alkyl sulfur compounds, which have antibiotic properties. This makes it an excellent anti-cancer agent.

Scientists further found that garlic could activate the immune cells against cancerous cells. Consumption of it may be helpful in warding off breast cancer.

Broccoli is another highly recommended food as it contains linamarase gene. When this compound is inside the cancer cells, it breaks down into cyanide. It ends up killing tumorous cells.

Some experts further recommend intake of grapes, which have proanthocyanidins. These compounds have been found to decrease the body’s estrogen production. What makes it even more beneficial is that it may potentially, effectively treat breast cancer.
