(Newswire.net — November 30, 2018) Cheyenne, Wyoming — Attempting the trendy ketogenic diet can feel a bit daunting initially since a lot of comfort foods are sure to be eliminated from one’s vocabulary even more so from one’s plate. Nonetheless, high protein/low carb diets are uber popular because they yield unprecedented results in record time. So venturing to eat more nuts is a great way to pack on the proteins with ease since it’s a healthy and satisfying snack to have throughout the day. With that said, it’s important to observe exactly which nuts and how much of each should one ideally consume. One can get a decent amount of carbs from nuts and see if they have chosen mindfully because not all nuts are created equal.

“Nuts and seeds provide low to moderate amounts of carbohydrates, depending on the type,” says Franziska Spritzler, a registered dietitian and certified diabetes educator. “However, in many cases, more than half of these carbs are fiber, which does not increase blood sugar or jeopardize ketosis. Therefore, consuming modest amounts of fiber-rich nuts and seeds may help control blood sugar, increase insulin sensitivity and reduce metabolic risk factors.”

The unmistakable almond is s remarkable “heart healthy” food which has been discovered to reduce low density lipids (LDL) cholesterol thus reducing the chances of developing heart issues. Also, almonds  have the highest protein content when compared to other nuts, almonds provides us with 6 grams of protein per serving.

Next there are Brazilian nuts which are the exemplary “nut anomaly” because they are full of selenium mineral which is proven to be great for thyroid function but if eaten excessively, it can become toxic. Brazilain nuts are totally safe in moderation so just pace yourself and you’ll be fine, plus it’s good to note that it only has 3.5 grams of carbohydrates per serving.

Pecans are another nut well recommended since they are high in zinc and low in net carbs. It is indeed one of the best nut selections while on a keto diet.

Botanically speaking, nuts are classified as fruits (surprise, surprise). The fruit is actually inside the nut scientists say, sorta like the fruit got engulfed in the developmental growth process so the hard shell exterior gives the illusion of it being something that is in fact not. Now nuts are generally considered to be heart healthy, well all except walnuts (sorry walnuts).

In any case, both seeds and nuts have much less carbohydrates than other plants derived food we eat, moreover seeds and nut are awesome little yummies packed with vitamins, minerals and so much more!

And of course, nuts offers up a whole lot of fiber but on the other hand, all the fiber from nuts can’t be completely digested as the enzymes we have in our digestive tract just aren’t outfitted to breakdown fibrous bonds hence a good deal is passed out in stool. With that said, there should be little concern to chowing down on nuts while on a keto diet, plus there are exogenous ketones such as the HealthyWiser™ KetoFast™ Supplement Powder to compliment your diet and sustain a healthy state of ketosis. The lemon lime flavor and appetite suppressing qualities of the KetoFast™ Supplement Powder makes it a perfect addition to any drink or shake to enjoy on the go.
