(Newswire.net — November 27, 2018) — Hazel Green, AL Porsche and Volkswagen restoration shop Airkooled Kustoms announced that its award-winning custom restored 1959 Volkswagen Beetle Ragtop will be featured at Hiley Volkswagen of Huntsville during December 2018. The installation will be of special interest to area Volkswagen enthusiasts who got their passion for these old “Dubs” early-on. It’s not uncommon for modern day VW lovers to dream of restoring or recreating the vehicle they first fell in love with, decades ago.

Named “Miss Mabel”, the Beetle Ragtop is the product of a project that took an estimated 1,347 crew-hours to restore. The shop continues to receive much acclaim for the quality of the build that attracted 12 corporate sponsors and features several high-performance “Kustom” elements.

The Hazel Green VW & Porsche custom restoration specialists have restored several classics including a 1960 VW Panel Bus, a 1969 Karmann Ghia, and a 1961 VW Double Cab. The shop is currently working on a 1973 Porsche 914-6, a 1958 Beetle electric conversion, and several other bone stock and custom restoration jobs.

In addition to full restorations, Airkooled Kustoms provides end-to-end repairs, maintenance, interiors, and bodywork. The shop is equipped for standard and custom work on engines, transmissions, mechanical, electrical, wheels, and high-end restorations. All custom work is performed in-house including the installation of aftermarket air-cooled products and custom leather work.

According to a spokesperson for the Hazel Green, AL professional Porsche, and VW restorers, “Miss Mabel, our 1959 VW Beetle Ragtop came to us all the way from Phoenix, AZ and once restored, won the People’s Choice award in Las Vegas at the Ultimate VW Build-Off 2015. We are delighted to share our work with generations of VW enthusiasts in Huntsville who get to see and appreciate this very special automobile.”
