(Newswire.net — February 11, 2019) Orlando, FL — Chronic urinary tract infections are not something to take for granted. More and more pharmaceutical manufacturers are even studying how this type of infection can be prevented and treated.

A study was published in Cell Host & Microbe. It was conducted by the researchers at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis.

The scientists found a way to prevent chronic urinary tract infections through the use of a key protein.

In this research, they vaccinated mice with this key protein, which is used by bacteria to latch onto the bladder and cause UTIs. Vaccination has been found to reduce the severity of the disease.

UTIs are often caused by the E.coli bacteria. The good news is such a key protein has been speculated to prevent the most severe consequences of a very common infection.

Scott Hultgren, PhD, the Helen L. Stoever Professor of Molecular Microbiology is one of the study’s senior authors.

He said that their findings demonstrate how bacteria were able to evolve a mechanism in colonizing the bladder. The vaccination inhibited such a mechanism, and it could be a part of a viable approach in the prevention or treatment of these infections.

According to research, around 80 percent of UTIs are due to the Escherichia coli. In the United States, UTIs account for 8.1 million visits to doctors.

It has further been found that women are more susceptible to this infection due to the fact that they have a shorter urethra.

It is worth mentioning that when the infection becomes chronic, a pool of bacteria is able to survive in the bladder. This can spread to the kidneys or bloodstream, which makes it severe enough to need hospitalization.

A natural remedy called D-mannose is popularized widely by its ability to fight urinary tract infections. This amazing ingredient can be found in cranberry, and is believed to be effective in preventing and treating UTIs.

It is so popular that many are consuming it through supplementation, such as the use of Divine Bounty D-Mannose.

According to scientists, D-Mannose works by simply inhibiting E. coli from latching on to the cells lining the urinary tract. This prevents the infection and even helps in treating it.

Divine Bounty D-Mannose is a formula to use for individuals who want to experience the healing goodness of this sugar. It is highly potent and is gaining more and more attention from consumers.

This supplement is free from nasty ingredients like binders, fillers, GMOs and preservatives. It could be an excellent formula for those who want to fight urinary tract infections.
