(Newswire.net — February 13, 2019) — In life, people are commonly told to dress for the job they want to have rather than the one they do. One group in Tallahassee is setting out to help young men do just that by teaching them the basics of how to dress for success and develop other essential life skills. The Kingsman Club. Now the club seeks to expand to work with young men in Bainbridge, too.
The Kingsman club not only teaches young men how to dress to achieve success in their lives and careers, but also works with them to teach them how to fill out applications for jobs, apartments, etc. Among the other life skills the organization teaches are essential skills, such as practicing etiquette, opening checking accounts, and managing their finances.
Marvin Boatman understands the challenges of growing up in single parent households where the primary focus is on survival and getting food on the table and believes this will help the young men who grow up in these situations to get training and education that may be unavailable in their homes, such as how to tie a tie. The Kingsman club seeks to fill gaps parents who work long hours or simply struggle with finances may not have the knowledge or time to teach their young men.
He says the goal of the Kingsman club is to support families and the organization seeks to support the young men they are working with in their own endeavors whether they be at sporting events or some other pursuits. He also encourages young men from all situations to participate as this is a group he believes is for everyone.
The belief being that every young man needs as many positive role models as possible. The Kingsman club seeks to be that positive presence for countless young men in and around Tallahassee and, now, Bainbridge. Boatman’s vision is to develop an “atmosphere of camaraderie and mentorship by bringing generations together – with a fashionable twist,” according to the Tallahassee Democrat. The original purpose has expanded and is creating lasting effects on the young men who participate as well as the men who serve as mentors for the group.
Regardless of everything else, the group is making a strong impression on those who participate and the community as a whole. Enough of one that expansion is set to happen soon.
