(Newswire.net — April 8, 2019) Plano, TEXAS — Martin UAV (MUAV) has been awarded one of two Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity contracts for V-BAT systems and services by the US Army with a total contract value up to $99,500,000.  In a hyper-competitive process, the Army selected V-BAT to help refine the requirements for the next phase the service’s Future Tactical UAS (FTUAS) program.  Only two contracts were awarded in the first stage of the Army’s effort to replace the aging Shadow UAS with the world’s most advanced Vertical Take-Off & Landing technologies.

Colonel Heath Niemi (USA ret.), MUAV VP of Global Sales stated, “We are excited to see the V-BAT, a true VTOL aircraft, moving into the capable hands of American soldiers”.

CEO Ruben Martin said, “This Army contract validates our longstanding belief in purpose-built AV’s that incorporate critical mission gap capabilities, first class operator safety in close quarters, a small logistical footprint, and robust, flexible, and diversified operational capabilities in a single, true VTOL UAV platform; all of which ensure America’s technological lead in global defense.  We are eager to work with our world class teaming partner, Northrop Grumman, and specifically, Colonel Robert Sova (USA ret.) and his team in Sierra Vista, AZ to support our soldiers.
