The new partnership will bring community service and literacy events to Burns Road Recreation Center in Palm Beach Gardens. Reading like this helps to build self confidence and transform lives.

Let’s Get Booking was founded by 11-year-old Shane Harrison Herman and 14-year-old Nestor Flores. The idea was born when Shane was diagnosed with dyslexia and noticed other students having the same issues as he did.

One of the problems he encountered was a lack of confidence in his reading. This led to a refusal to read aloud – a problem he saw mirrored in other students.

The latest research shows that one in five people are dyslexic, and one of the problems is that many people don’t even realize it. This can lead to problems in school, with many people only finding out after experiencing difficulties reading or learning.

The goal of Let’s Get Booking is to help make it much easier for those who are struggling with their reading to get the help they need. Connecting these people with the right opportunities for growth and development can change lives.

The company states: “Many kids start to have problems reading at a very early age, when they first start school and even before. Their struggles often continue their whole lives and become the reason why dyslexics have low self confidence.”

One of the biggest contributing factors to this is the lack of a stress free, non judge mental environment for the practice of reading. Being able to practice reading in a safe space helps to improve reading while building confidence.

The new partnership with The City of Palm Beach Gardens will help more people to improve their reading skills and grow in confidence.
