Neuralgia Sufferers May Potentially Benefit from the Use of Omega-3 Fatty Acids

Joseph Maroon, a neurologist from the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center reveals that fish oil supplements have the potential to reduce the perception of pain. He conducted a study involving participants treated with 1,200mg of EPA and DHA on a daily basis.

EPA and DHA are two of the most popular forms of omega-3 fats. It was found that 60 percent of the participants experienced a decrease in the need of taking anti-inflammatory pain medications. Almost 90 percent of the participants also indicated that they would use fish oil for pain management.
