(Newswire.net — August 22, 2019) Orlando, FL — It has long been known that poor sleep wreaks havoc on overall health and disease protection. Some studies even show sleep deprivation increases the likelihood of certain diseases.
According to a trio of studies, breathing issues during sleep may be a sign of an increased risk of Alzheimer’s disease.
The investigators further add that treating conditions like sleep apnea as well as hypopnea may potentially reduce the risk of dementia, or at least slow its progression.
Keith Fargo says that what’s exciting about these three studies is that they are looking at biological changes in the brain that may underlie a relationship between sleep problems and Alzheimer’s disease.
Fargo is director of scientific programs and outreach at the Alzheimer’s Association.
These three studies were carried out by the researchers from Wheaton College in Illinois and colleagues, used data from the Alzheimer’s Disease Neuroimaging Initiative.
The findings were presented at the Alzheimer’s Association conference in London.
The researchers suggest that even individuals who do not have Alzheimer’s disease may be susceptible to cognitive health issues due to sleep apnea.
According to statistics, sleep apnea happens to three in ten men and one in five women.
Health authorities have long been stressing the importance of taking the helpful measures in enhancing sleep quality. Maintaining healthy sleep could significantly enhance immunity against a range of diseases.
Some all-natural remedies like lion’s mane could be useful in achieving better sleep. Studies reveal that this natural remedy has an ability to protect and enhance brain health, which is vital in achieving quality sleep.
According to researchers, it has an ability to increase the use of nerve growth factor (NGF) in the brain. It is worth realizing that the NGF is a neurotrophic protein vital for the growth, proliferation, maintenance and survival of our neurons.
Scientific evidence suggests that the NGF provides the body with the support it needs to regulate the body chemistry. As the body prepares to go to sleep, it activates the parasympathetic nervous system.
This subsequently turns off our fight or flight mode, which significantly promotes sleep. It is worth mentioning that this adaptogenic mushroom also targets stressors, which are considered to be a hindrance to good sleep.
Research even suggests that lion’s mane aids in fighting anxiety and depression, which can also disrupt sleep. There are various mechanisms lion’s mane has been found to use in enhancing sleep.
Today, it is widely consumed via supplementation like the use of Divine Bounty Lion’s Mane. This amazing formula is loaded with high-quality and potent lion’s mane.
