(Newswire.net — September 2, 2019) — MRO Supply is a global e-commerce company. Since 1898, MROSupply has carried over a million unique products, servicing industries such as automotive, cleaning, mechanical, electrical, and more.

The latest edition of the Bureau of Labor Statistics’ Occupational Handbook reveals exciting data about the Cleaning Industry. Primarily, it’s rapid growth.

According to the BLS Employment Projection program, the national average job growth is 7% (across all industries). The estimated growth for Commercial Cleaning, however, is 10%. That’s 3% above the national average.

This means 230,000+ new jobs will be created by 2026. The top industries employing commercial cleaners include buildings, schools, real estate, universities, and local government.

California currently has the highest employment of commercial and industrial cleaning professionals. Janitors and cleaners in CA also have one of the top median salaries of any state.

This favorable job outlook is partly due to increased demand for outsourced services. The industry has seen a spike in contracting opportunities since the recession. In particular, healthcare facilities have created many new jobs for the cleaning industry.

Commercial cleaners are not the only ones who have seen prosperity in recent years. Residential cleaners, like maids and housekeepers, also have seen increasing job opportunities. According to the BLS, California is the number one employer of residential cleaners in the US. They are followed by Florida, Texas, and New York. Over 98,000 jobs existed in California in 2017. This is the highest employment level in the country.

This positive job outlook for both Commercial and Residential cleaners has created a demand for quality cleaning supplies. MRO Supply has seen an increase in the sale of alkaline chemicals, acids, and detergents. Supplies like brooms, brushes, mops, trash cans, compactors, and other items are also in high demand.

The Bureau of Labor Statistics is not the only agency reporting promising cleaning industry stats. Experts agree that both residential and commercial cleaners can expect job growth over the next several years.

Entrepreneurs and small business owners are capitalizing on this upturn. “Now is the time to get in the game, start a business,” explains one business owner, “It’s a great industry. There’s a sense of pride that comes with entering a room that’s a mess, and leaving it clean.”

California is currently one of the most favorable markets for starting a cleaning business. But markets across the US are seeing similar returns. With an above-average job outlook, both commercial and residential cleaners can expect an increase in jobs over the next several years.
