CNN contacted Camou’s defense counsel who is however yet to release a statement.

Hoglund stated at a news conference in August that Custer, 31 was last seen when the police answered likely domestic violence that occurred on July 29 at Camou’s home in Monrovia.

Amid the recent gun violence, killings of white nationalists and hate offenses in the United States, a series of regulations have been proposed by U.S. legislators to tackle the developing brutality.

The Center for the Study of Hate and Extremism based in California stated that hate offenses in 2018 increased by 9% in about 30 prominent cities in the U.S.

The Gun violence archive stated that 29 cases of gun violence that resulted in the death of about 66 individuals were recorded in only August in the country.

A Californian Democrat U.S. Rep Adam Scuff passed a bill last month to ensure that domestic violence is a criminal offense in the U.S. If this ruling is passed, domestic violence will also carry certain penalties in the United Stares

The federal law, however, considers domestic violence a crime without a predefined penalty for the act.

Concerning the El Paso deadly attack, Scuff presented the bill to the legislature.

Additionally, two bills sponsored by Republicans in the US House of Representatives and similar procedures were also introduced by the Senate.
New regulations were also enacted by the Governor of Texas, Greg Abbott which enabled gun holders to convey their weapons in open places such as churches, school areas, and other locations, and also prevent cities from placing limits on the sale of firearms and bullets.

The gun-rights were firmly protected by Abbott and his colleagues while passing the blame for mass shootings on violent games and psychological wellbeing.
Abbott then authorized eight executive decrees into law after the El Paso, Midland and Odessa gun violence.

The Texas Tribune indicated that he referenced the right to bear arms by stating that he would persistently collaborate with the legislature on laws to ensure that guns are kept far from violent individuals and make sure that the second amendment rights of Texas residents that are law-abiding are protected.

Nevertheless, with the increase in deaths from gun violence in every part of the country, the House of Representatives managed by Democrats issued a ruling that will scrutinize the purchase of firearms but its endorsement by the Senate managed by Republicans still raises doubts.

Mitch McConnell, the Senate majority leader who is a Republican from Kentucky declared that President Donald Trump’s decision on gun control is still expected by Congressional Republicans.

Although Trump has indicated uncertainties about the effectiveness of background investigation in times past.

Trump stated in a report that ordinarily considering the previous four to five cases of gun violence that dates back six or seven years from now, it couldn’t have been controlled even after performing a comprehensive background investigation, which makes it, therefore, a major issue and a psychological one.

The Department of Justice and the White House led by Attorney General William Barr are tenaciously putting all efforts into implementing capital punishment for culprits who are guilty of performing gun violence.

The capital punishment has not been enforced since 2003 and this proposition is an aspect of a more comprehensive effort to bringing back capital punishment by the Trump administration.

Although, these endeavors will undoubtedly attract lawsuits from groups of civil rights activists and advocacy firms that frown at the death penalty.

However, about thirty states in the United States still permit capital punishment. The executive director of Death Penalty Information Center, Robert Dunham indicated that the issue of gun violence will not be solved by speeding up executions.

He, however, indicated that concentrating on capital punishment in solving gun violence will move focus and effort from solutions that could trigger a change, hence it would be counter-productive.
