(Newswire.net — October 25, 2019) Las Vegas, NV — More and more researchers are investigating on the ways to help fight the prevalence of depression. In a study, it has been revealed that a certain step can be a powerful preventive measure against the brain disorder.
An international team of researchers, including experts from King’s College London, conducted a study.
They found that individuals who were more active had a reduced chance of developing depression in the future. This was compared to individuals with low physical activity levels.
According to Dr Felipe Barreto Schuch, of the Universidade La Salle in Brazil, this is the first global meta-analysis to establish that engaging in physical activity is beneficial for protecting the general population from developing depression.
“People who are more active have a lesser risk of developing depression,” he adds.
Previous research studies have long revealed that physical activity could work wonders in warding off a range of diseases and disorders, and it includes depression.
The study above involved over 250,000 people who demonstrated that exercise offered protection against depression. The results stayed true regardless of a person’s age or geographical location.
While the use of pharmaceutical drugs is often the primary course of action when it comes to dealing with depression, there are actually natural remedies available in addition to exercise.
According to scientists, a macromineral called magnesium plays a role in various pathways involved in depression. In a study, it has been found mice with a diet so low in magnesium content exhibited depressive behavior. Low magnesium content pertains to only 10 percent of the daily requirement.
Previous research has revealed that low magnesium status is linked with increased depressive symptoms not just in several different age groups but also ethnic populations. It is important to be warned that major depression, especially the suicidal type seems to be particularly related to insufficiency of magnesium.
Researchers also revealed that magnesium supplementation has been associated with improvements in the symptoms of postpartum depression, major depression, premenstrual symptoms, and chronic fatigue syndrome.
In a separate study, the use of magnesium sulfate in rats significantly reduced postpartum depression. It is worth mentioning the rats were subjected to traumatic brain injury.
In case studies involving magnesium supplementation, it has been found the macromineral treatment led to improvements in anxiety, depression, and even sleep within one week.
Some sprays like Purest Vantage Magnesium Oil have been found beneficial in delivering the therapeutic goodness of this mineral.
This magnesium oil spray gains more and more popularity due to its high potency and purity (http://www.amazon.com/Pure-Magnesium-Oil-Spray-Transdermal/dp/B011T9TASI).
