(Newswire.net — November 21, 2019) Orlando, FL — Rheumatoid arthritis affects not just women, but also men. However, research has found that this condition is more likely to occur in men at a certain age.

According to James O’Dell, MD, if it happens to you, you might be tempted to tough out the pain, but don’t delay seeing a doctor about it. It’s important to get a diagnosis and start treatment right away.

O’Dell is chief of rheumatology at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha.

In men, it is important to understand that RA has been found to be slightly harder to diagnose. This is due to the fact that it usually strikes first in the small joints of your hand, like the top finger joints or knuckles, or the toes.

“In men with large, muscular, or bony hands, it may be harder to find swelling in those joints,” says O’Dell.

Research warns that RA also usually occurs during middle age than in the golden years of men.

Tiffany Taft, PD, says men are less open to talking about their pain.

Taft is a psychologist at Oak Park Behavioral Medicine in Illinois.

Some of the most common RA triggers in men are smoking and genetic predisposition.

Some researchers eye on the use of nutrients like vitamin E in fighting arthritis. According to studies, vitamin E could work wonders in delivering its antioxidant agents that are beneficial for arthritis.

In a clinical study, it has been found that antioxidants significantly enhanced the disease activity of individuals with rheumatoid arthritis.

Bhattacharya et al. carried out a study, and in this research it was found that vitamin E exhibited some antioxidant activities. These antioxidants were found to offer protection against oxidative stress produced by osteoarthritis.

It is important to understand that oxidative stress could result in joint pain and inflammation.

Researchers further reveal that vitamin E has inhibited lipid peroxidation and even exhibited anti-inflammatory analgesic activity. They recommend it could be an effective treatment in the symptoms of osteoarthritis mediated by oxidative stress.

Another study was carried out and it involved 75 clinically diagnosed osteoarthritis patients. It was found that vitamin E was able to produce some improvements in antioxidant status and bone health.

There is a myriad of health benefits the use of vitamin E is linked with. This is why it is best to nourish the body with it, and one way to do this is to use Divine Bounty Men’s Multivitamins.
