(Newswire.net — November 29, 2019) — The US ambassador to the European Union, Gordon Sondland, has been accused of sexual misconduct by three different women.

The allegations, which were published on Wednesday by Portland Monthly Magazine and ProPublica, states that Sondland retaliated against these women professionally after they refused his advances.

This report has stated that ‘In one case, a potential business partner recalls that Sondland took her to tour a room in a hotel he owns, only to then grab her face and try to kiss her. After she rejected him, Sondland backtracked on investing in her business.’

Another woman has stated that Sondland ‘exposed’ himself during a business interaction. When she refused his advances, he later called her and screamed at her for her poor job performance. These allegations span over seven years, but have only been brought to light since October.

These allegations could not have come at a worse time for Gordon Sondland, who is currently a key witness in the impeachment enquiry. He has, of course, completely denied the allegations.

“In decades of my career in business and civic affairs, my conduct can be affirmed by hundreds of employees and colleagues with whom I have worked in countless circumstances.’

Sondland went on further to state that he believes that these allegations of kissing and touching are completely concoted, and made up for political purposes.

One of Sondland’s lawyers have since sent news outlets a five-page letter that hasfurther stated that the women who have accused Sondland of sexual assault have done so for ‘financial and personal gain.’

The lawyer, Jim McDermott, added: “Given the timing of your intended story, a reasonable conclusion to be drawn is that you are attempting to affect Ambassador Sondland’s credibility as a fact witness in the pending impeachment inquiry. Given the politically charged climate in which current events are unfolding, some might consider this to be veiled witness tampering.”

It remains to be seen whether anything will come of these sexual misconduct allegations, and it is certainly not been the first sexual assault allegations to be put against a member of Donald Trump’s administration.
