(Newswire.net — March 14, 2020) — Chinese foreign ministry spokesperson Lijian Zhao accuses the U.S. of hiding information about the origin of the Covid-19 virus that some experts speculate was made in a laboratory.

Zhao suggests that the virus may have been brought to Wuhan by the U.S. military. To support his claims he points to a video of the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) director Robert Redfield apparently admitting the patient zero may be in the U.S.

Zhang called for Americans on Twitter to come clean with the information that the patient zero actually is in fact in the United States, and speculates that the U.S. army brought the epidemic to Wuhan. He didn’t say if he believes that bringing Covid-19 to China was a deliberate act or not, but he is confident that the U.S. authorities are hiding the truth.

For his claims, Zhang points to a video in which the CDC director Redfield acknowledged that some cases of coronavirus were misclassified as influenza as the medics didn’t have an accurate test for the new epidemic that was just starting to spread at the time.

Redfield, however, didn’t elaborate on when these cases appeared, which can be also interpreted as that the CDC director meant misdiagnosed cases were discovered after Covid-19 was brought from China to the U.S.

Zhao’s “theory” in particular focused on the military delegation that traveled to Wuhan in October for the Military World Games, just weeks before the city confirmed the outbreak in December, Russia Today reports.

The Head of Iran’s Revolutionary Guards, Hossein Salami, claims that the Covid-19 was created in the U.S. laboratory as a bio-weapon against Iran and China, RT reports.

“It is possible that this virus is a product of a biological attack by America which initially spread to China and then to Iran and the rest of the world,” Hossein Salami said on Thursday. He said the virus in the form of illness will return to the U.S.

There is still no official proof to support such conspiracy theories, and finding the true patient zero might help.
