(Newswire.net — May 5, 2020) Orlando, FL — By 2060, a study from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reveals that U.S. burden of Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias (ADRD) will double.

This study was published in the Alzheimer’s & Dementia: The Journal of the Alzheimer’s Association.

In 2014, it is worth noting that its burden in the United States was 5 million, which is 1.6 percent of the population.

CDC Director Robert R. Redfield, M.D. says that this study shows that as the U.S. population increases, the number of people affected by Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias will rise, especially among minority populations.

“Early diagnosis is key to helping people and their families cope with loss of memory, navigate the health care system, and plan for their care in the future,” he adds.

More and more studies are still being carried out to explore more about Alzheimer’s and how it can be prevented.

According to multiple studies, some foods could be significantly helpful in offering protection and improvements to brain health.

Scientists say that consumption of leafy greens like spinach, kale, mustard greens, and collard may be helpful. It is important to understand that these foods contain nutrients like B9 and folate that could enhance cognition and decrease depression.

These foods are also loaded with a range of nutrients that could strengthen and protect brain health. It is similarly essential to consume cruciferous vegetables, such as bok choy, cauliflower, broccoli, and brussels sprouts.

Individuals who are looking for some all-natural ways to fight Alzheimer’s may take into account using therapeutic ingredients like curcumin.

Preliminary research reveals that this phytochemical may aid in curbing inflammation and even fighting oxidative stress. It is worth realizing that both inflammation and oxidative stress have been found useful as contributors to the onset of Alzheimer’s disease.

Scientists say that in preliminary studies, curcumin worked in thwarting the Alzheimer’s-associated breakdown of nerve cells in the brain. This powerful healing ingredient has also been found useful in inhibiting the formation of Alzheimer’s-related brain plaques.

It is important to keep in mind that these plaques are notoriously known to accumulate between nerve cells. They could impair brain function due to their ability to destroy synapses.

There are many brain health benefits the use of curcumin has been associated with. This is why its use is highly recommended.
