Scientists Share Foods for Enhancing Brain and Memory Function

Recently, a clinical study in Germany has revealed that its use led to improvements in brain function and memory in elderly subjects. Scientists in Germany at the NeuroCure Cluster of Excellence and the Max Planck Institute for Human Cognitive and Brain Sciences carried out a study. They aimed at learning about the effects of resveratrol in brain function and memory in healthy overweight older adults. 

They found that resveratrol use led to a significant effect on the ability of the subjects to remember words than the placebo. It is worth mentioning this study has twenty-three participants who were 50 to 75 years of age. They were treated with 200 mg of resveratrol on a daily basis for 26 weeks.

Scientists also revealed that the resveratrol group exhibited a significant improvement in functional connectivity of the hippocampus. It is worth mentioning that this is the brain area involved in memory formation, organization, and storage of memory.

This interesting study has also revealed that the resveratrol group showed a reduction in glycated hemoglobin (HbA1c), which indicates improved blood sugar control.
