(Newswire.net — May 26, 2020) — The COVID-19 pandemic has forced businesses around the globe to strategize innovative solutions to thrive in a shifting professional landscape. By developing comprehensive coping strategies, organizations can also help to ensure the health and safety of their workers.

Al Boufarah, the Founder and CEO of leading data destruction and electronic waste recycling firm SAMR Inc., has highlighted key ways that his company is keeping staff and customers safe throughout the global public health crisis, while at the same time maintaining full, uninterrupted business continuity.

“Our customers depend on us for world-class single-source electronics recycling, computer recycling and disposal, and IT asset management solutions,” commented Al Boufarah, who launched SAMR Inc. around 20 years ago, and now serves businesses, towns, schools, hospitals, and government entities. “It is vital that our customers know that during this volatile and uncertain period, we are here for them. Our Customer Service department is fully staffed, and will continue with standard operation to accommodate any and all service requests. At the same time, as always our corporate offices and warehouse facility remains gated and equipped with alarm systems, keycard access, security personnel, along with an extensive security camera system to protect our customers’ materials and data.”

Paid Sick Leave

To help mitigate the spread of COVID-19 — and to contribute as a responsible corporate citizen that is focused on helping the community and country emerge from the crisis — SAMR Inc. has advised any employee who displays any symptoms of respiratory illness such as fever, shortness of breath, or coughing to remain at home.

They are providing all SAMR Inc. employees who have symptoms of respiratory illness with paid sick time, so they can focus on treatment and recovery, and not worry about their financial well-being during this stressful and challenging time.

Al Boufarah, whose company has access to over a 150 trucks and trailers, and has the capacity to serve customers nationwide claims that his people are his most valuable asset, and he wants to do his part to ensure that they experience a full recovery and are completely symptom-free before returning to the workplace.

Preventative Care

SAMR Inc. has also implemented several preventative care actions at its corporate headquarters in Lakewood, New Jersey. These measures include: increasing the frequency of overall cleaning and paying special attention to commonly-touched surfaces; providing employees with education and reminders regarding proper hand hygiene and practices (e.g. coughing and sneezing into the arm, etc.); providing masks to employees for use within the office and warehouse environments, enforcing social distancing of six feet; and banning employees from sharing food until further notice.

Monitoring Public Health Announcements

In addition to these important health and safety measures, the SAMR Inc. executive team is constantly monitoring bulletins from public health officials, and adhering to all requirements and mandates.

While at this point there is some cautious optimism that the worst of the crisis is behind us, it is absolutely vital that organizations and individuals alike proceed carefully and prudently, in order to prevent triggering a second and potentially even deadlier wave of infections.

The Bottom Line

“This has been a difficult time for so many people, especially given the speed at which the crisis unfolded. In a matter of weeks, we went from being told to wash our hands regularly, to being ordered to remain in our homes for all but essential activities”, states Al Boufarah. “However, despite how stressful and challenging things have been, I am inspired by the heroic efforts of healthcare workers, first responders, and other essential workers who are helping us get through this. We are in this together, and we will emerge stronger and better.”
