( — July 2, 2020) Orlando, FL — Depression rates continue to skyrocket in many areas around the globe today, especially in the U.S. It is worth mentioning that in a study, this mental health issue has been found to be more common in women.

Worldwide, it has been found that there are more than 300 individuals living with depression. Experts even warn that it is the top cause of disability worldwide.

In a study, scientists scanned the brains of 115 subjects. They found anhedonia, which pertains to inflammation that result in a loss of pleasure, in women but not in men.

It is further worth mentioning that among young individuals aged 14 to 25 years, females have been found to be more than twice susceptible to having depression as males.

This research was published in the journal Biological Psychiatry: Cognitive Neuroscience and Neuroimaging.

The senior author of the study was Naomi Eisenberger, Ph.D., a professor at the University of California, Los Angeles.

It is important to be warned that anhedonia is considered to be one of the hallmarks of major depressive disorder. On a neurological level, this condition happens as a decrease activity in the brain’s reward processing area, called the ventral striatum.

According to first author Mona Moieni, Ph.D., women with chronic inflammatory disorders may be particularly vulnerable to developing depression through decreases in sensitivity to reward. Experts have long been investigating on the risk factors of depression to help reduce its prevalence. Some studies suggest that it is due to brain chemical changes while others say it is a result of some external factors.

It is worth realizing that exposure to toxins have also been found to contribute to depression. Medical reports have even shown a link between depression and anxiety with pesticide exposure. Scientists from the Colorado Injury Control Research Center reveal that exposure to pesticides could result in anxiety, depression, and some other psychiatric disorders.

In a study involving farmers, it has been found that there was a 50 percent increased likelihood of clinical depression diagnosis in individuals with the highest number of lifetime exposure days to agricultural pesticides. It is important to realize that even the healthiest foods like fruits and vegetables have been found to contain high levels of pesticides.

Experts strongly recommend reducing exposure to these toxins, or detoxifying the body. Body cleansing has long been linked with a myriad of health benefits, especially that toxin buildup could result in various undesirable health consequences.

To cleanse the body from these depression-triggering substances, it is wise to consider the use of natural remedies like activated charcoal. One formula that is popularized by its high potency and purity is Purest Vantage Activated Charcoal (
