(Newswire.net — July 10, 2020) Orlando, FL — Heartburn is undeniably common nowadays, but there are actually medications used for this condition. Unfortunately, it appears that the use of these pharmaceutical drugs is linked with side effects.

A new study has shown that individuals who resort to the use of certain drugs in the treatment of chronic heartburn may be at the heightened risk of developing kidney disease.

The study highlighted the potential risks of certain drugs like proton pump inhibitors (PPIs), which include prescription and over-the-counter drugs.

Experts further warn that prolonged used of PPIs has been associated with certain nutrient deficiencies and bone-density loss.

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration, says that bone fractures are considered a safety concern when people use PPIs for a year or more.

Just last year, a study has shown a link between these medications and a slight increase in the risk of a heart attack.

According to Dr. Ziyad Al-Aly, he cannot say for certain that this is cause-and-effect.

Dr. Ziyad Al-Aly is one of the researchers on the current study and a kidney specialist with the Veterans Affairs St. Louis Health Care System.

“I think people see these medications at the drug store and assume they’re completely safe, but there’s growing evidence they’re not as safe as we’ve thought,” he adds.

Today, more and more research studies are looking into the therapeutic goodness of some natural remedies for heartburn and some gastrointestinal issues.

One is turmeric, which has long been used for thousands of years for various medicinal purposes. More particularly, it has been found to aid in stomach problems as well as digestive issues.

Curcumin has been scientifically discovered to possess a range of healing agents. These particularly include genoprotective, antifungal, adaptogenic, insulin-sensitizing, androgenic, antifibrotic, neurorestorative, and metal-chelating properties.

It also contains anticoagulant, antiseptic, anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, anticarcinogenic, antiproliferative, antiviral, renoprotective, anti-purulent, immunomodulating, and anticatabolic agents.

In 2007, a study has shown that it aided in cases of acid reflux as well as gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), which may be caused by inflammation and oxidative stress.

This has been found to be due to its antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. Curcumin has also been found to aid in treating acid reflux.

There are many health benefits associated with the use of this phytochemical. Its use is even widely nowadays for preventive health purposes.

Formulas like VitaBreeze Curcumin may work wonders in delivering the therapeutic goodness of this phytochemical. This formula offers pretty much everything consumers look for, such as high potency and purity.

What makes it even more beneficial is that it also has black pepper, which increases curcumin absorption inside the body (amazon.com/Turmeric-Curcumin-Complex-Pepper-Extract/dp/B00JA4TLTI/).
