(Newswire.net— July 28, 2020) —  Washington, DC – American doctors address COVID-19 misinformation on a press conference in front of the US Supreme Court in Washington DC.

Published by the right-wing media outlet Breitbart News, the video featured a group of people wearing white lab coats with an “America’s Frontline Doctors” logo, staging a press conference.

“We are here because we feel that the American people have not heard from all the expertise that are out there, across the country. We do have some experts speaking but there are lots of, lots of experts in the country, so some of us decided to get together,” Dr. Simone Gold, a Los Angeles-based emergency medicine specialist said in front of America’s Frontline Doctors group.

“I’m here because I have personally treated over 350 patients with COVID,” said Dr. Stella Immanuel, a Houston GP who claims that hydroxychloroquine in combination with other usual drugs cured all her patients of COVID-19.

“Patients that have diabetes, patients that have high blood pressure, patients that have asthma, old people … I think my oldest patient is 92 … 87-year-olds. And the result has been the same. I put them on hydroxychloroquine, I put them on zinc, I put them on Zithromax, and they’re all well,” Dr. Immanuel stressed while clearly upset.

The US President Donald Trump shared the video of America’s Frontline Doctors on Monday with his 84 millions of followers on Twitter. However, the video was soon restricted by social networks. Facebook, Twitter, and Youtube banned the video because of the alleged spread of dubious information, CNN Business reports.

“We’re taking action in line with our COVID misinformation policy,” a Twitter spokesperson told CNN. The video was also removed from YouTube for “violating YouTube’s Community Guidelines.”

The claims that there is a cure for COVID-19 run contrary to multiple studies on the use of the anti-malarial drug and advice from public health officials, who claim that a study found that neither hydroxychloroquine alone nor hydroxychloroquine plus azithromycin appeared to affect the condition of patients within two weeks of treatment.

Additionally, the study found that unusual heart rhythms and elevated liver-enzyme levels were more frequent in patients receiving hydroxychloroquine alone or with azithromycin.

A member of the newly formed America’s Frontier Doctors whose name was not clearly heard in the video, however, claims that the drug is “safer than Aspirin.”

“Its supersafe, all right… So what the problem is in light of those studies, they did very, very high doses, massive doses,” the doctor said. “They [researchers] use 2400mg in the first day! All you need is 200mg twice a week,” the doctor stressed explaining that the WHO and other researchers used toxic doses in their studies.

“And guess what they found? When you use massive toxic doses you get toxic results,” the doctor said.

Although banned from social networks, the full video is still to be found at independent sites.
