( — August 6, 2020) Orlando, FL — Many cardiovascular ailments are linked with old age. However, it is important to note that more studies are looking into the prevalence of heart health issues in the younger population.

A study was presented at the American Heart Association’s Scientific Sessions 2019 — November 16-18 in Philadelphia.

In this preliminary research, it has been found that heart health deteriorates as early as adolescence. Further, it has been found African American girls experience greater rates of decline compared to Caucasian girls.

According to lead study author Holly Gooding, M.D., cardiovascular health declines in adolescent girls, and some teens experience a greater loss of cardiovascular health than others.

Gooding is an assistant professor of pediatrics at Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta, Georgia. Gooding is a member of the American Heart Association’s Cardiovascular Disease & Stroke in Women and Special Populations Committee.

“About 20 percent of the girls in this study entered young adulthood with low cardiovascular health – defined as less than half of the total possible ideal cardiovascular health score of seven key health factors,” she adds.

Experts warn that the contributing risk factors to heart disease can actually start as early as childhood and adolescence. These risk factors are the use of tobacco and alcohol, a sedentary lifestyle, and obesity.

It is important to stress that among the younger population, physical inactivity and obesity are considered to be two of the biggest challenges.

Research has even shown that almost 24 million children aged 2 to 19 are overweight or obese, and 15 percent of adolescents not getting enough exercise. It is worth noting that this is a problem that is more common among girls than boys.

Health authorities have time and again recommended some measures that could be extremely helpful in protecting the heart.

Studies have been carried out to explore the heart healing effects of certain natural remedies, which include the use of a medicinal mushroom called lion’s mane.

Experts suggest that the use of this natural remedy aids in enhancing heart health and this is due to its ability to balance cholesterol levels. This widely-studied healing ingredient has also been found to improve circulation throughout the body.

In an animal research, it has been found consumption of lion’s mane extract decreased total cholesterol. It also worked in lessening the levels of triglycerides and LDL. What makes it all the more beneficial is that it has been able to improve HDL cholesterol levels.

Lion’s mane could be an excellent remedy for individuals who want to improve their heart health. It can be obtained through the use of supplements like Divine Bounty Lion’s Mane (
