(Newswire.net — December 9, 2020) Orlando, FL — Decades of research has demonstrated that adhering to a healthy diet is one of the most effective ways to live a longer life. Unfortunately today, there are many unhealthy foods that are eaten regularly by consumers.

A study was published in the JAMA Internal Medicine.

In this research, the investigators suggest that reducing or avoiding intake of ultra-processed foods aided in enhancing lifespan.

This interesting study involved nearly 45,000 adults who were 45 years and older. They were made to complete several dietary assessments for two years. It is further worth mentioning that on average, ultra-processed foods made up about 15 percent of their daily diet as measured in grams.

Experts define ultra-processed food to be those that are ready-to-eat and microwaveable. These include bread, chicken or fish nuggets, breakfast cereals, instant noodles, chocolate bars and candies, chips, and artificially sweetened beverages.

The investigators particularly link intake of ultra-processed food with the increased likelihood of early death from all causes, especially cancers and cardiovascular disease.

They also suggest that this may be due to the fact that these foods have little to zero nutrients compared to unprocessed foods. They are further often loaded with sugar, salt, saturated fat, and food additives, all of which are linked with an increased risk for chronic diseases.

Interestingly, more studies are actually being carried out to learn more about the secrets of achieving longevity. It doesn’t come as a surprise that aside from reducing intake of ultra-processed foods, consumption of healthy ones is highly beneficial.

These include the increased intake of compounds that can be found in spices like turmeric. A particular compound called curcumin has been shown to have longevity-promoting benefits.

A study was published in the BioFactors journal.

In this research, it has been found that curcumin has demonstrated its ability to extend the life of several species.

According to Li-Rong Shen and his associates, the prospect that pharmaceutical and nutraceutical interventions may delay aging and age-related diseases is shared by many researchers.

Li-Rong Shen and his associates are from the Jean Mayer-USDA Human Nutrition Research Center on Aging at Tufts University.

It is further worth mentioning that the use of curcumin has been associated with various disease-fighting benefits, and this is another major reason why it helps promote longevity.

Formulas like VitaBreeze Curcumin may be an excellent choice for individuals who want to benefit from the longevity-promoting effects of this phytochemical.

This extra-strength formula is carefully crafted to ensure that curcumin is efficiently delivered to and absorbed by the body (amazon.com/Turmeric-Curcumin-Complex-Pepper-Extract/dp/B00JA4TLTI/).
