(Newswire.net — January 18, 2021) Orlando, FL — Age-related macular degeneration (AMD) is one of the eye health issues that are being widely researched on nowadays.

According to experts, this health issue affecting the retina may lead in the loss of central vision. It occurs when there is damage in the macula, which is a part of the retina.

There are two types of AMD, namely the wet and dry. The dry form is quite common and around 8 out of 10 individuals with this eye health issue have this form. Wet form is less common but is considered to be much more serious.

Ophthalmologists warn there are those who are at a heightened risk of having this eye health issue. These include those who follow a diet loaded with saturated fat, who are overweight, who smoke cigarettes, with hypertension, are more than 50 years old, or have a family history of AMD.

Scientists continue to carry out studies to look into the various aspects of this eye health issue. There are studies revealing that some all-natural remedies like vitamins found to be protective to the eyes.

Nutrients have long been identified to be vital for eye health, and these particularly include B vitamins. It is worth noting that in many research studies, these vitamins have been linked with a myriad of health benefits.

According to researchers, various studies have shown a link between high blood levels of circulating homocysteine and the heightened odds of AMD.

It is important to stress that vitamin B6 has long been known to lessen elevated blood levels of homocysteine. This is why adequate intake of B6 is vital in lessening the odds of having this eye health issue.

Scientists carried out a seven-year study and it involved more than 5,400 female health professionals. It has been found that daily consumption of vitamins B6, B12, and B9 led to a significant reduction in the risk of AMD.

More particularly, it resulted in a risk reduction of 35 percent to 40 percent compared to the placebo. Due to these findings, experts suggest B6 may be useful in preventing AMD.  There have been quite a number of studies showing the healing effects of this nutrient.

Aside from consuming certain healthy foods, there are also supplements like Divine Bounty B Vitamin Complex found to be helpful in delivering the healing goodness of these nutrients.

It contains Choline, Pantothenic acid, Biotin, Vitamin B12, Folic Acid, Niacin, Riboflavin, Thiamin, and vitamin B6 (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07414752B).
