Los Angeles, CA-based ADVOgroup has announced the launch of their new educational video series, Zoom Boom. This five-part digital video series provides users actionable steps to enhance their at-home video calls and improve their communication, connection, and leadership skills.

The first video in the Zoom Boom series is called Zoom Boom #1: Lighting. By providing clear, straightforward solutions on improving a user’s at-home lighting set-up for presentations on Zoom, WebEx, Skype, Microsoft Teams, Google Hangouts, and other video platforms, ADVO believes users can drastically improve their digital presence and presentation.
This recently-launched video not only lays out simple steps that any user can apply to improve the quality of their digital presence, but also provides guidelines of what to avoid. ADVO warns against lighting from behind or using light from above that’s too bright, both of which obscures the user’s face, making it difficult to develop meaningful human connection between the participants.
To overcome these challenges, ADVO advocates users to implement a diffused, bright LED light, positioned in front of the speaker, just off to one side, which highlights the eyes and deepens the connection between the speaker and participant. By removing these technical obstacles, the participants can focus more on each other, which adds deeper meaning and investment to the content of the presentation.
This now-available video is just the first in a series of five videos that guides users to make intentional choices to enhance their digital presence, which will elevate their ability to more effectively communicate through virtual mediums. The other videos in the series discuss video framing, virtual backgrounds, eye-line, and connection.
These entertaining and slightly unconventional videos are intended to promote micro-learning through the “edutainment” genre, while capturing the personality of the ADVOgroup’s founders, Greg Derelian and Peter Katona. These two established actors with Master’s degrees from the Yale School of Drama, have taken the most effective principles of performance and translated them into a methodology designed to tackle the greatest communication and leadership challenges in the professional world beyond the stage.
Lisa Stevens Anderson, President of Q-Point Health, spoke about her recent experience working with ADVO: “The ADVO team provides actionable immediate feedback on strategies and tactics to communicate vital business information. Their ability to understand your business model, regardless of the industry, and help you deliver powerful messages will leave your audience waiting for more!”
