A newly updated thyroid consultation service has been launched by Novis Health. The functional medicine specialists are based in Fort Mill and pride themselves on high quality service.
Novis Health, the functional medicine specialists in Fort Mill, have launched an updated service for patients who are unhappy with their current thyroid condition intervention. As part of the service update, a thyroid assessment is available to check if their current treatment plan is working.

The newly updated service is designed to meet the growing need for specialized care in the local area. The team at Novis Health explain that low thyroid patients in the US are not getting better, and one of the main reasons is because they have underlying causes or patterns that are not being addressed.
Hypothyroidism involves high levels of thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH) and low levels of thyroid hormones T4 and T3. However, within the practice, the specialist team frequently sees people with low levels of T3 and normal T4, and either low or normal TSH.
This condition has been reported on in the medical literature for years, but is rarely acknowledged or discussed in conventional medical settings. Many patients believe that doctors don’t know what causes it or what to do about it.
Recently, more attention has been given to Low T3 Syndrome in non-critical, chronic illness. Novis Health questions whether thyroid hormone replacement is useful in this situation, or if it could even be harmful.
This is because in emotional, psychological or physiological stress, the body will convert excess T4 to reverse T3. With this in mind, it’s possible that replacing thyroid hormone in these cases may not be beneficial.
The team at Novis Health explains that there are around 20 million Americans suffering from thyroid disease, and over 60% of them are unaware that they have an issue.
Part of the reason for this is that the testing used in a traditional medicine approach doesn’t provide much insight into the function of the thyroid.
Some of the symptoms of thyroid conditions include weight gain, low energy, brain fog, hair loss, insomnia, depression, brittle nails and anxiety. Others could include difficulty regulating body temperature, dry skin, and mood swings.
A specialist from the clinic states: “If you are concerned that you may be dealing with a thyroid condition or already know you are with unsatisfactory care, contact us and schedule a one on one thyroid consultation with one of our providers to see if you are a candidate for care.”
