The Academy of Dermatology Now Reveals Acne Affects Dozens of Millions of Americans

According to Emma Taylor, M.D., the real importance of this study is that it shows that resveratrol (an antioxidant) and benzoyl peroxide (an oxidant) actually have enhanced and sustained antibacterial activity.

Taylor is the study’s first author and an assistant clinical professor of medicine in the division of dermatology at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA.

The study was funded by the Women’s Dermatologic Society and National Institutes of Health.
