The Silver Springs, MD nonprofit for children has launched the charity fundraiser in aid of marginalized Nigerian children who live in areas that are hard to reach. The organization’s goal is to facilitate positive changes in the lives of the most destitute and neglected children.
The World Bank and the Nigerian Living Standards Survey report that about 40 percent of Nigeria’s population—approximately 83 million people live below the poverty line. More than 70 percent of the country’s children live in extreme poverty, with 23 percent living in extreme poverty.
Toria Rock seeks to protect the fundamental rights of children living in Nigeria’s streets and improve their access to food, education, health, water, sanitation, and shelter. The nonprofit runs multiple fundraising campaigns to meet these needs.

The multidisciplinary team at Toria Rock seeks to protect children living on the streets from being exploited and criminalized by malicious and unscrupulous people. The organization seeks to relocate children from the streets and give them opportunities to thrive and welcomes donations, volunteers, and sponsorship to continue its work among Nigerian children. The nonprofit provides children with safe spaces for learning, creative arts, sports, meals, and counseling.
