Dr. Rose’s Baby is the brainchild of a pediatrician and mom, Dr. Reyna M. Trevino. The new product aims to provide parents with a safer and more hygienic alternative to traditional bulb or straw aspirators.

According to Dr. Trevino, one of the common reasons babies cry is when they can’t breathe through their noses. This makes a nasal aspirator one of the essential tools parents should have in their baby care arsenal. However, when asked what is the best aspirator to use, she finds it hard to recommend the best one as most aspirators in the market have their disadvantages.

For example, regular bulb aspirators are opaque. Thus, parents can’t see if they are actually successful in sucking any mucus from their babies’ noses. Also, bulb aspirators have one valve, thus the nozzle needs to be inserted repeatedly into the babies’ noses which causes them to become irritated.

Straw aspirators on the other hand involves parents sucking out the mucus themselves using the aspirator like a straw. While they are able to control the suction strength, there is a high possibility of virus and bacteria transfer from baby to parent.

Dissatisfied with these aspirators, Dr, Trevino decided to develop her own. Dr. Rose’s Baby is a clear nasal aspirator designed with a soft nozzle and engineered to have 2 valves. This makes it possible for repeat suctioning, eliminating having to insert the nozzle into the baby’s nose repeatedly.

Furthermore, it provides just enough suction to safely draw out mucus without rupturing inner nose tissue. Also safer for parents to use, virus transfer is significantly less as compared to using a straw aspirator. The product uses FDA-approved silicone, is dishwasher safe and does not require additional filters.
