(Newswire.net — February 22, 2021) Orlando, FL — Statistics reveal that in the United States, there are around 2.2 million people with schizophrenia. Further, about 5.7 million Americans are with bipolar disorder.

Mental health issues continue to alarm people. There are also other diseases like obesity that are considered to be a major public health problem in the U.S.

In the country, it has been found that an estimated 35 percent of the population are considered obese and with a body mass index (BMI) of 30 or more.

Researchers carried out a study to compare long-term weight gain across psychotic disorders. More particularly, it has been found that there could be a link in between weight, the way body fat is distributed and psychotic disorders.

This study was published in the international journal called Bipolar Disorders.

It was carried out by the researchers from Florida Atlantic University’s Charles E. Schmidt College of Medicine.

The study findings have shown that triglycerides, hemoglobin A1C, cholesterol, and blood pressure were not correlated with BMI in the group as a whole. However, it is worth mentioning that there was a substantial correlation between waist circumference and body fat.

The investigators have shown that having a waist circumference at year 20 was significantly greater in schizophrenia than in bipolar disorder. Further, females with schizophrenia tended to have higher waist circumference than women or men with bipolar disorder.

The study findings also reveal that almost two-thirds of individuals with schizophrenia and more than half of those with bipolar disorder turned obese 20 years following their first hospitalization for psychosis.

Managing a healthy weight is essential for preventive health purposes. It is worth mentioning that in multiple research studies, experts have been stressing the potential use of certain natural remedies like turmeric for weight loss.

One of the mechanisms turmeric has been found to exert in benefiting weight loss is its anti-inflammatory effects. It is worth mentioning turmeric contains curcumin, which has strong inflammation-fighting properties.

Experts warn that one of the roadblocks to weight loss is inflammation. The higher inflammation levels are inside the body, the more difficult it is to lose weight. The good news is that curcumin could aid in reducing inflammation levels inside the body.

It is further worth mentioning that curcumin has strong antioxidants, which have natural cleansing ability. When consumed on a daily basis, curcumin can aid in flushing toxin buildup in the liver.

Doctors have long revealed that the liver plays a significant role in metabolizing fats. This means that there is a great chance of weight loss if the liver is able to function at its optimum level.

The weight loss benefits and other disease-fighting effects of this natural remedy may be obtained through the help of formulas like VitaBreeze Curcumin (http://amazon.com/Turmeric-Curcumin-Complex-Pepper-Extract/dp/B00JA4TLTI/).
