The newly launched Brazilian Jiu Jitsu classes at Mash Gym aim to provide students with the skills, training and knowledge necessary to defend and protect themselves against an opponent of any size and shape.

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) has become one of the most popular self-defense martial arts. This martial arts style is based on ground techniques grappling and submission holds.

After only a few weeks of training, most students should hold a large grappling advantage over an untrained opponent. They can also improve physical fitness, mental health and character building.

Mash Gym offers professional BJJ classes that prepare students to defend themselves during a physical confrontation while keeping themselves and the fight under control.

Both children and adults can learn BJJ. The martial arts style is not for a particular age, fitness level, or body type.

Black belts Todd Allee, Brandon McDaniel and Tommy Bagnasco combine modern techniques and old-school BJJ in their classes. This means that, unlike many other martial arts schools, their training includes self-defense.

The school trains under the direction of world-renowned Red and Black Belt Master Carlos Enrique “Caique” Elias.

Mash Gym also offers BJJ and MMA classes to students around Metro Detroit, Michigan, and the Redford area.

A satisfied client student said: I’ve been going to Mash for over 5 years and wouldn’t go anywhere else. My wife and kids train here as well. BJJ, Boxing, Fitness, Strength, Flexibility and Personal Training, it’s truly a one stop martial arts and fitness shop. There’s definitely a lot of camaraderie and most people that come to Mash are serious about what they do.”
