Many ministries extend their help within the church. Raising up leaders, offering counseling or support groups are just some of the ways ministries provide edification for believers of God. However, there are also ministries that reach out to those who don’t necessarily belong to the local church. Organizations such as Hargrave Ministries uphold each believer’s responsibility to not only help those who are in the immediate community, but also individuals across seas who are going through challenges.
Israel Nonprofits Supported by Hargrave Ministries and Their Vision
Minister Gary Hargrave of Hargrave Ministries hopes to continue their support for many Israeli nonprofits. In this post, we will be discovering the mission and vision of each nonprofit organization and how providing support to Hargrave Ministries can further God’s Kingdom.
AMI Jerusalem Center for Biblical Study and Research
The teachings of Christianity and Judaism are said to be different in nature, but they have commonalities that exist which can be a point of understanding and unity. The AMI Jerusalem Center for Biblical Study and Research aims to bridge the understanding between Christian and Jews, through different programs such as:
Conventions and conferences:
Attendees have the opportunity to learn about both doctrines and the relationship between Jews and Christians through topics presented by distinct speakers.
Guided tours:
Scholars, students, ministers, and other people who want to know more about the Holy Land can also participate in guided tours hosted by AMI Jerusalem.
Talks and seminars:
Small-scale talks and seminars are also hosted by AMI Jerusalem with the same goal of understanding history, Scripture, and other reputable sources on studies related to Christianity and Judaism.
By supporting the ministry by Minister Gary Hargrave, people get to help in building up peace, understanding, and unity among Jews and Christians.
Shiloh Israel Children’s Fund
The Shiloh Israel Children’s Fund is a nonprofit dedicated to the little ones who are affected by terrorism. There are areas in Israel that are targeted by terrorist groups, and some civilians are suffering from emotional trauma, injuries, and other negative effects of these tragedies.
Shiloh Israel Children’s Fund provides the following programs for children:
Therapy services:
The organization provides psychotherapies and other forms of intervention to help in children’s mental and emotional health.
Educational services:
A community torn apart by war and terrorism means a lack of educational opportunities. The nonprofit also hosts classes for children to continue their basic education under their care.
Recreational services:
Aside from therapies and schooling, the nonprofit also dedicates a portion of its program roster to provide enriching activities for children to heal from the trauma of terrorism.
By supporting another partner of the ministry, one can make a change in the lives of children survivors of terrorism.
IDF Widows and Orphans Organization
The military families of Israel are sacrificing their safety and lives for the sake of defending the nation. When Israeli soldiers die in combat, they leave behind their families who are often left without anything. The mission of IDF Widows and Orphans Organization is to provide security for those who are left behind by the tragic consequences of civil unrest.
IDF Widows and Orphans Organization in these numerous ways:
Food provisions:
The nonprofit gave away food vouchers during holidays and times of distress for widows and orphans under their care.
Medical assistance:
Those who are rescued from conflict-ridden areas are provided immediate medical care, and others are given no-cost checkups and medications as needed.
Educational assistance:
The ministry in partnership with IDF organization provided 133 scholarships for the orphans to continue their higher education.
The impact of supporting the ministry is clear with these projects spearheaded by the IDF. Biblical Scripture specifically mentions that we are to reach out to the most vulnerable: “Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.” James 1:27.
Yad Eliezer
Another main nonprofit that the Hargrave Ministries Support is the Yad Eliezer. From the Hebrew term that means “Hand” and “My God who helped”, the organization believes that every Israeli deserves a life of dignity and self-reliance. Their mission is to provide relief from resources from poverty-stricken areas in Israel.
Some of Yad Eliezer’s programs include:
Seasonal relief campaigns:
At present, the nonprofit is providing quilts to help those who are affected by Israel’s harsh winter weather. Yad Eliezer also creates seasonal projects to provide relief depending on the need.
Event sponsorship:
There are also special milestones in Jewish children’s lives that sometimes require financing. Yad Eliezer also serves as a platform to sponsor children’s events such as the Bar Mitzvah.
Mobile food bank:
Called “Meals on Wheels”, this program serves to provide hot meals for people in need in impoverished areas in Israel.
The diversity of programs that Yad Eliezer provides indeed supplements much-needed help for Israel’s people.
Helping A Ministry, Changing A Life
The nonprofits mentioned above as well as the other charities supported by Minister Gary Hargrave and his organization shows us that we can all do our part to change lives.
As God directed people to serve Him by serving others, our duty as believers is to give support in diverse ways such as through international ministries that reach far-flung people in need.
