New York orthodontist Dr Nicole Cuoccio has expanded her services to offer Invisalign treatment for children and adults looking to straighten their teeth using this top of the range technology.

More information is available at https://www.drnicolecuoccio.com.

The service, based in East Northport, is available for patients with misaligned teeth and bites that notice food getting caught in their teeth, chipping, crowding teeth and biting problems.

Misaligned teeth can lead to gum disease, worn teeth, and premature tooth loss. The aligners are used to treat a wide range of cases due to their SmartTrack material and features. This makes the aligners more comfortable and easier to input and remove, applies a gentle, constant force, improves control of teeth movement, and give predictable results faster than traditional braces.

Invisalign aligners are clear and removable, allowing customers to carry on with everyday life as normal, continue to eat their usual foods and show their teeth without noticeable braces. With Invisalign, oral hygiene is easier to maintain and there are no dietary restrictions.

Dr Cuoccio follows a ‘3 Phase’ treatment program. The ‘early interceptive’ or Phase 1 Treatment service for young children, allows her to spot subtle problems with jaw growth or emerging teeth. Detecting problems early and monitoring them throughout life may prevent or intercept more serious problems from developing and make later treatment shorter and less complicated. Each patient is provided with the most appropriate treatment at the most appropriate time, as some results may not be possible to achieve once growth is complete.

Within the Phase 2 Treatment service, patients are given the choice between traditional braces or Invisalign depending on their suitability. These treatments will work to straighten the teeth within around 18 – 24 months.

Once this phase is complete, Dr Cuoccio will fabricate a retainer for each patient to stop teeth shifting over time. This may also include fixed retainers, a small wire that is cemented to the back teeth to keep them in place.

Dr Nicole Cuoccio is a certified Invisalign provider and is a member of the American Association of Orthodontists, American Dental Association, Northeast Society of Orthodontists, New York State Dental Association, and Suffolk Country Dental Society.

Dr Nicole says that she is “passionate about providing orthodontic treatment to both children and adults” and is “focused on creating beautiful and healthy smiles to last a lifetime.”
