An energy efficiency expert has launched a bill reduction service for households and businesses, allowing them to save on monthly costs and prevent future cases of overcharging.

DJ Consulting Services, an energy efficiency specialist in Tewksbury, has introduced Viv, a service designed to help commercial and residential consumers reduce the costs of recurring bills.

The newly announced service offers clients a means to reduce their monthly bills through expert negotiation strategies. According to the company, this service was introduced to address overpayment, which is costing Americans a total of $60 billion annually.

Viv can negotiate a lower charge on behalf of the customer through AutoPilot. In this service, the company accepts bills from home and business owners and then contacts the issuing service provider to discuss a lower charge.

“We do this all day, every day. We know who to talk to and what to say to get you the absolute best deals available, which means lower prices for you,” the company stated on its website.

Various bills can be sent for negotiation. Viv can handle most common bills, including phone, internet, cable, satellite TV, and pest control charges, among others.

The company only charges customers after a successful negotiation, taking 50% of the saved amount for a set period. For instance, if the company manages to save the customer $20 monthly, it will ask for $10 per month.

“We only get paid if you save money, so there is absolutely no risk to you,” the company stated.

Early adopters of this service have already generated thousands in savings. For example, one New Jersey construction firm has accumulated over $18,000 in savings after Viv negotiated just two bills with their respective providers.

Moreover, Viv also offers a bill auditing service designed for businesses, where it identifies overcharges and obtains refunds for the customer. This service also creates future savings by ensuring that all upcoming bills are error-free.

Viv called on business owners to have their bills checked because the likelihood of having erroneous bills is high. According to the company, over 80% of the invoices it audited contain overcharges.

Like AutoPilot, this service only collects a fee after finding a savings or refund opportunity.
