Many have thought President Barack Obama’s relationship with the police throughout his political career has always been, at best, challenging. Some have suggested that the Obama Foundation is openly hostile to the police and played a major role in instigating the social unrest the USA has experienced over the last decade.

In his book The Obama Gang, National Police Association writer, Steve Pomper dissects the relationship the former President has with police professionals and organizations. The non-fiction literary offering examines the role his foundation has played in the recent police protests and subsequent riots.

Pomper, a former Seattle police officer paints the picture of a “web of allies” that are part of a larger effort to undermine the police. He maps out how this group resembles an “organized crime family” and is pulling the strings to alter the very core of American security.

Obama’s Facade

The former President, according to Pomper, has always cultivated a “nice guy” persona as it pertains to his politics, ideology, and affiliations with groups like the National Police Association. He has worked hard to put forth an image of a regular guy anyone would want to have a beer with. Pomper makes clear from the outset that he considers this to be a political calculation designed to further his secret and radical agenda.

Skip Gates

Pomper starts out with the Harvard University Henry “Skip” Gates incident with the Cambridge Police. In that incident, the police were called by a concerned neighbor to address what the caller suspected was an attempted break-in. Even though the events in question are still in dispute, Obama stated that he suspected race played a role in the police action.

This laid the groundwork to raise race as an issue when the topic was police actions, according to Pomper. It opened the door to talk about “racial profiling” and put the police in a dubious role. As many have insisted, race was not even a consideration throughout the entire process.

Michael Brown

Obama also inserted himself into the shooting death of 18-year-old Michael Brown. The Department of Justice, under Obama, thoroughly investigated the incident and were unable to find anything incriminating and refuted many rumors that surrounded the shooting.

Other Instances of Politicization

The former President has also injected race into other, non-race-related events. He used the funeral of Representative John Lewis to attack President Donald Trump’s response to the recent riots of 2020. He compared those tactics to those used by southern segregationists in the 1960s.

Soros the “Underboss”

George Soros is a Democratic supporter and source of major funding, He has, as Pomper points out, funneled tons of cash into local and state elections, specifically aiding soft-on-crime district attorneys that are sympathetic to the “police are racist” mantra.

Affiliate Organizations

Organizations like the My Brother’s Keeper Alliance have helped Obama push the idea that the police need radical reform, their supporters foster systemic racism and a national effort is needed to change both. National Police Association continually uses its resources in and out of the court of law to defend our police forces against these threats to keep every officer of the law safe.

The Foundation

As the quiet leader of these efforts, the Foundation, per Pomper, has worked hard to push a reform agenda to “combat systemic racism within law enforcement.” This includes the 10 most populous cities in the USA. It has resulted in many major police jurisdictions being forced to adopt policies that fly against good policing practices as laid out by the National Police Association; it has also led to a movement to end the traditional role of the police as protector of the innocent.

The Results

While the objective of the movement is to “reduce the footprint of policing,” the results have been more chilling. Police funding has been slashed in many areas and needed equipment has been pulled out of rotation or not funded. This reduction of police funding has included decommissioning equipment that aided the public in natural disasters.

Organized Riots

Based on his own research, Pomper says that many of the rioters in recent memory have worked in tandem with the Foundation to give the violence structure and to proselytize to the masses regarding the need for police reform, including defunding the police.

This has included working with groups like Antifa and Black Lives Matter, which Pomper insists are aligned with Marxist ideology.

The End Goal

At the heart of this, Pomper asserts, is an effort to destabilize the police and impose a larger socialist agenda. Barack Obama and his foundation have provided an organizational structure to facilitate the demonization of the police as part of that strategy.

According to Pomper, “There are all these multifaceted attacks. The non-random nature of this well-funded, far-reaching anti-police machine is directed by the former president …”
