Plant Based TeleHealth has launched a national telemedicine service to provide access to remote care for patients across the USA with chronic conditions, using plant-based lifestyle intervention.

Plant Based TeleHealth (PB TH), an online telemedicine service based in Colorado, has launched a national service to make plant-based lifestyle medicine widely available in the USA. The new service allows clients to have an appointment with a lifestyle medicine doctor from the comfort of their own home and focuses on the prevention and reversal of chronic disease using lifestyle medicine.

PB TH’s telemedicine service uses secure video conferencing and patient portal technologies to provide remote access to plant-based lifestyle medicine across the United States. This allows a doctor in one location to deliver ‘in person’ care to a patient at a distant site.

Lifestyle medicine is the evidence-based practice of promoting healthy behaviors and lifestyle modification, including a whole food, plant-based diet. It is a fast-growing healthcare field and includes adopting healthier habits in exercise, stress reduction, better sleep and stopping smoking.

The new online service provides medical care for patients who have chronic disease and other medical conditions including (but not limited to) diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, heart disease, autoimmune diseases, inflammation and digestive issues.

Individuals who address these conditions by adopting a whole food, plant-based diet and making other lifestyle changes can expect an improvement in, and sometimes reversal of, chronic disease. With lifestyle medicine, doctors care for the whole person at root-cause level, strengthening the body’s immune system and often leading to improved health overall.

Plant Based TeleHealth was co-founded by Anthony Masiello and Laurie Marbas, MD, a team of medical doctors seeking to make lifestyle medicine available to everyone. Patients can book appointments with a range of doctors, who are available to see people in all 50 states of the US and in Washington DC, and internationally for lifestyle medicine consultations. A company spokesperson said: “We continue to be amazed by the benefits of working with a knowledgeable doctor who looks beyond writing prescriptions but also focuses on optimizing health through lifestyle interventions. Our goal is to provide hope and a roadmap to wellness for our patients and clients.”
