(Newswire.net — May 6, 2021) Orlando, FL — Doctors and many of the world’s most powerful health organizations have been strongly warning against the ill health effects of smoking. There are many diseases linked with this unhealthy habit, and it includes infertility.

Two new studies have shown that smoking is particularly harmful to sperm health. The investigators suggest that smoking affects men who may become fathers and sons of women who smoked during pregnancy.

Dr. Mohamed E. Hammadeh, who spearheaded the study, says that the results of the present study suggest a negative biological effect of smoking on spermatozoa DNA integrity.

Dr. Hammadeh is head of the assisted reproductive laboratory in the department of obstetrics and gynecology at the University of the Saarland in Saar, Germany.

The investigators particularly reveal that men who heavily smoke are prone to fertility issues. This is believed to be due to the drop in the levels of a protein essential to sperm development and damage to the DNA of the sperm.

This interesting research was published online in Human Reproduction.

It is worth mentioning that in another study, it has been found women who smoke early in their pregnancy may ultimately compromise their sons’ reproductive health.

Experts have been strongly recommending to resort to measures that aid in protecting and enhancing sperm health. One of these measures is to use natural remedies like ashwagandha, which is a highly therapeutic Ayurvedic herb.

In some studies, ashwagandha has been found to improve the quality of the sperm and reduce fertility issues in men.

A study was published in Evidence-Based Complementary and Alternative Medicine, which tested the effects of ashwagandha on sperm health.

In this research, it has been found there was an increase in the sperm count by 167 percent in men with oligospermia, which pertains to low sperm count. Further, the use of this natural remedy also led to an increase in semen volume by 53 percent and increase in sperm motility by 57 percent.

It is important to realize that the use of this natural remedy has long been reputed to work wonders in delivering a range of healing benefits.

Scientists say it enhances antioxidant levels as well as semen quality in men suffering from stress-related infertility.

A study in 2011 was published in Fertility and Sterility.

The investigators found ashwagandha was able to reduce free radicals as well as enhance semen quality. What makes it all the more beneficial is that it could also regulate essential hormones, such as follicle stimulating hormone (FSH), luteinizing hormone (LH), and prolactin (PRL) in the male system.

To experience its healing effects, it is wise to consider the use of Divine Bounty Ashwagandha (amazon.com/Organic-Ashwagandha-Capsules-Absorption-Ashwaganda/dp/B072KFLL6X).
