Boomhi Inc. has released a new report detailing the effects of deforestation on the Earth’s environment. The piece includes the causes of deforestation as well as ways in which it can be prevented.
Eco-friendly antimicrobial sock brand Boomhi has released a new report about the significant impact of deforestation on the global climate. The piece compiles a variety of facts and information from a National Geographic article by Christina Nunez.

Boomhi’s latest report intends to educate consumers about the serious effects of deforestation, as well as ways in which these consequences can be mitigated. The clothing brand specializes in green socks manufactured with a special Epithelial-Mesenchymal Transition (EMT) pattern woven into the fabric. Based on neuroscience, these patterns are designed to send signals to the brain that improve a wearer’s mood.
Each pair of Boomhi’s sustainably made socks is created from recycled plastic bottles that have been cleaned, regenerated, and transformed into breathable, antimicrobial material. Available in classic crew and quarter top styles, the moisture-resistant products are designed to provide premium arch support and cushioning.
The company’s environmentally responsible products reflect their commitment to healing the planet.
According to Boomhi’s new report, although forests still cover roughly 30% of Earth, the rate at which humans are cutting them down is increasing significantly. The World Bank reports that between 1990 and 2016, over 500,000 square miles of forest have been destroyed.
More than half of the world’s deforestation can be attributed to practices such as livestock grazing, mining, drilling, and agriculture. In addition, much of Earth’s forest depletion has been due to wildfires, urbanization, logging, palm oil production, and cattle ranching.
Boomhi’s report notes that deforestation affects more than just the climate, but also the people and animals living within forest and savannah areas across the globe. Orangutans, Sumatran tigers, and other animal species that depend on forests are becoming increasingly threatened as deforestation rates continue to rise. To prevent further damage caused by global deforestation, many conservationist organizations and activists are attempting to combat illegal mining and logging practices. Consumers are also encouraged to opt for sustainably produced products and meat.
The company’s planting program aims to promote global reforestation and create healthier ecosystems around the world. For every customer who orders a pair of their socks, Boomhi promises to nurture and plant one tree sapling.
By 2022, Boomhi and its non-profit partner One Tree Planted hope to plant one billion trees in communities around the world.
A spokesperson for Boomhi states: “We believe being environmentally responsible should be an expectation of all companies. We’re committed not just to minimizing our footprint, but to making the Earth even greener than we found it.”
