Heart Disease Remains the Top Cause of Death

(Newswire.net — May 31, 2021) Orlando, FL — Around the globe, almost 18.6 million individuals succumbed to death in 2019 due to cardiovascular disease. Still in the same year, there were over 523.2 million cases of cardiovascular disease.

According to Salim S. Virani, M.D. Ph.D., FAHA, COVID-19 has taken a huge toll on human life worldwide and is on track to become one of the top three to five causes of death in 2020. But its influence will directly and indirectly impact rates of cardiovascular disease prevalence and deaths for years to come.

Virani is chair of the writing committee for the 2021 Statistical Update and an associate professor in cardiology and cardiovascular research sections at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas.

“Research is showing that the unique coronavirus can cause damage to the heart. Importantly, we also know people have delayed getting care for heart attacks and strokes, which can result in poorer outcomes,” Virani adds.

What makes the situation even more critical is that the poor lifestyle behaviors the pandemic restrictions and changes produced exacerbate cardiovascular health risks.

It is worth keeping in mind that this condition doesn’t just happen to older adults, and is increasingly getting prevalent in the younger ones.

Factors like high rates of obesity and hypertension among younger individuals place them at risk for heart disease earlier in life. Almost half of the U.S. population have at least one of the leading three risk factors for heart disease, and these are high cholesterol, hypertension, and smoking.

There are nutrients found to be helpful for cardiovascular health, and these include B vitamins.

These nutrients have long been studied on due to their significance on overall health and disease protection.

According to experts, vitamin B deficiencies may result in issues like anemia, fatigue, trouble maintaining balance, muscle weakness, poor memory, soreness of the mouth or tongue, depression, dementia, confusion, or mood disturbances.

There have been many nutrients studied and found by experts to have therapeutic effects, especially for the heart. Japanese researchers say that foods loaded with B vitamins like B6 and folate may actually lessen the odds of death from stroke and heart health issues.

The preliminary findings have shown that both B6 and folate lessened the odds of heart failure in male subjects. They also tended to lessen the odds of death from stroke and heart disease in women.

Folate may be obtained from vegetables, fruits, whole or enriched grains, fortified cereals, beans, and legumes. B-6, on the other hand, can be eating from fish, vegetables, liver, meats, whole grains, and fortified cereals.

Extra-strength supplements like Divine Bounty B Vitamin Complex may be helpful in delivering the healing goodness of these nutrients.

It contains Choline, Pantothenic acid, Biotin, Vitamin B12, Folic Acid, Niacin, Riboflavin, Thiamin, and vitamin B6.
