(Newswire.net — June 16, 2021) Orlando, FL — The well-being of the gut has long been considered to be vital for overall health. When it is not in good shape, it could also produce some undesirable health consequences.

A preliminary study, which was presented at the American Heart Association’s Hypertension 2019 Scientific Sessions, has shown the gut bacteria may be linked to high blood pressure and depression.

According to Bruce R. Stevens, Ph.D., people are ‘meta-organisms’ made up of roughly equal numbers of human cells and bacteria. Gut bacteria ecology interacts with our bodily physiology and brains, which may steer some people towards developing high blood pressure and depression.

Stevens is the lead author of the study and professor of physiology & functional genomics, medicine, and psychiatry at the University of Florida College of Medicine in Gainesville, Florida.

“In the future, health professionals may target your gut in order to prevent, diagnose, and selectively treat different forms of high blood pressure,” he adds.

The study findings have shown unique patterns of bacteria in individuals with both hypertension and depression, and those with high blood pressure without depression. Such patterns were also observed in individuals with depression with healthy blood pressure or healthy subjects without depression or high blood pressure.

More studies are still underway to explore more about the ways to combat hypertension and depression. However, it remains true that gut health is vital for disease protection. There are many ways to ensure that the gut stays healthy and protected.

One is to use probiotics as well as digestive enzymes, which are widely studied due to their remarkable gut health benefits. Probiotics are beneficial bacteria found to be vital for digestive health.

Digestive enzymes, on the other hand, come in various types and work different mechanisms to benefit the digestive system.

According to researchers, probiotics work exceptionally in balancing the friendly bacteria in the digestive system. They are known to restore the natural balance of gut bacteria, and this is beneficial considering that an imbalance can trigger the onset of certain diseases.

Probiotics have even been found to reduce certain mental health issues. In studies, probiotic supplementation for 1 to 2 months has led to .improvements in depression, anxiety, and autism. It is further worth noting these beneficial bacteria have blood pressure regulating benefits.

The healing goodness of these remedies may be obtained through the use of formulas like Divine Bounty Digestive Enzymes.
