Intake of Excessive Ultra-Processed Food a Driver for Heart Disease Onset

The investigators revealed that adults who ate approximately 70 percent of calories from ultra-processed foods were half as likely to have “ideal” cardiovascular health. It is worth noting that the ideal cardiovascular health is defined by the American Heart Associations’ Life’s Simple Seven. 

Further, they compared it with individuals who consumed 40 percent or less of their calories from ultra-processed foods.

Experts have long been warning against the intake of ultra-processed foods as they could wreak havoc on various aspects of health. These include packaged salty snacks, soft drinks, processed meats, cookies, cakes, chicken nuggets, and packaged instant soups.
